Ken Stuart
Second Chance – Pacific Seacraft 37
Ken was introduced to sailing at the USCG Academy. His first experiences
were on the square rigged USCGC Eagle. Since that introduction, most of
Ken’s racing experience has been on the East Coast. After moving
to the West Coast, occasional cruising became the norm.
In 1999 Ken bought Second Chance with the idea of doing extended offshore
cruises, but this never materialized. He had been following the TransPac
and Pacific Cup races and believed that this might be an objective. The
logistics of preparation and lining up crew seemed overwhelming. On the
other hand, the SSS TransPac was within reach.
This will be the first race to Hawaii for Ken. His main objective is simply
the personal accomplishment, also to share in the fun and perhaps even
be competitive if the skipper doesn’t spin into the dreaded Pacific
high.

Special Thanks: Mimi – my better half for keeping me focused. Also
