In 2000 I did the race on 41-ft Vandestadt, Georgia. In my bio I
said I was glad not to sail my little boat, Mirage: I was too old.
That was before I met my wife and we doublehanded Mirage to Hawaii
for a 2004 Pacific Cup honeymoon.
I celebrated turning 64 with two big events: winning the SSS Singlehanded
season, and a heart event during the Vallejo 1-2.
Ten years younger at heart, time to take the little boat. With the
early start, I may just return in time to sail in PacCup too!
